Co-Chair
This office is shared by two group members. Term is one year; however, individuals can serve up to 2 years if desired and can be re-elected. Duties include coordinating the topics for bi-monthly meetings; chair and dismiss the meetings; ensure meetings are run smoothly and that each member receives equal opportunity to speak or be heard; communicate with all committee chairpersons via a bi-monthly meeting on the off-months of the regular NWLTP meeting; receive progress reports from committee chairpersons which will be shared at the general meetings; encourage all communications to be channeled through a central point (i.e., job announcements, new member notifications, etc) to ensure that information is sent to the correct email distribution list. Other duties as necessary.
Communication Committee
Work in conjunction with the Co-Chairs to ensure all members receive updated communication on meeting notices, meeting notes, new member notifications (in conjunction with Membership Committee so most current email distribution list is being used), job announcements; alert members via email of meeting dates, locates and times; set up bi-monthly meetings with committee chairpersons and communicate that to the group; compile meeting notes; type correspondence to be dissiminated within the group or outside the group as necessary (e.g., welcome letters to new members, etc). Create and maintain list serve, if applicable.
Membership Committee
Create and maintain email distribution list of all active members; research the northwest market for potential law firms to contact for membership mailings and invitation to meetings; draft letter to send to prospective members; follow-up with phone calls to firms after two (2) weeks to personally invite their trainer representative to a bi-monthly meeting; keep attendance sheet at meetings for the purpose of contacting members who have not attended a monthly meeting for some time to invite them back; compile and send email to all members welcoming the new members to the organization so that the correspondence is coming from a central location.
Training & Technology Committee
Research certification and training opportunitites for members and present this information both at the general bi-monthly meeting and to the Web Developer so that it can be posted on the website; research new technologies, softwares, technology organizations and training conferences for the purpose of attendance and collaborative efforts for our members; contact vendors for product demonstration and pertaining specifically to trainers; give presentations to the group as necessary or required or various training-specific topics or softwares.
Web Development Committee
Establish a procedure for submitting changes, updates or new items to the website for posting (e.g., via form, email, word of mouth, etc); train appropriate committee chairpersons on the process of updating the website as needed and document the instructions; ensure website links are current; ensure website is user friendly; perform other web-related tasks as necessary.
